Bard Harder - Sundew Tulips

After the band handed over the Bone of Patent Zero to Theo, they head back out to obtain the Sundew Tulip.

The band head east through the forest, following the directions of the rising sun.

On route the band is ambushed by a group of goblins, who were demanding a toll for them to pass.

The band did not take kindly to this and a fight kicked off, unfortunately one of the goblins was a wizard who fireballed the band.

With a further two heavily armoured goblins charging the band, while two more were taking pop shots at members of the band.

The Goblin wizard ran away from the band when his firseball did not kill the band,

Silme, Ekam and Yomi dispatched on of the shooty Goblins.

Gribble, Heironymo and Lemmog dispatched the two heavly armoured goblins.

Then Lemmog charged Gribble.

Gribble turned invisible, but was carved up by Lemmog.

The Wizard came back and upcast his fireball and almost killed the band.

Silme and Yomi dispatched the wizard.

Ekam put some pain on Lemmog, who was battling Heironymo.

Lemmog goes down, Heironymo takes out the final goblin by making it fall out of the tree it was hiding in.

After Gribble was stabilised and healed up a bit, Gribble stabilised Lemmog, but they kept him unconscious.

After a huge discussion over an unconscious Lemmog, Ekam goes off and burys the Bezerker Axe, Silme Removes the curse from Lemmog, Gribble takes one of the Goblins Battles Axes and uses his magic to make it look like Lemmogs favourite Axe.

Then they wake Lemmog, who falls for the switch.

The band then take a moment to catch their breath and heal themselves up, before heading further east.

The band see that the trees and other flora become more lush and vibrant. Yomi and Silme recognise that this area represents a shallow point between the feywilds and the material plane and many fey creatures cross over here as a result.

The trees loom high overhead and are overgrown with bright emerald green leaves and vines. Beautiful flowers bloom all around the band and even the sun itself seems brighter with every step they take. The aroma here is divine - a welcome smell after the overwhelming scent of the town of Eden. The band spot a rabbit not too far away nibbling on a bit of grass, seemingly completely unafraid of them as they approach. A small squirrel scurries up a nearby tree, a multitude of flowers blooming on its back and providing camouflage while it’s on the ground.

Finding the flower

The band continues to head east, following the sun. Gribble talks to a tree, with the rest of the band wondering what the hell he is doing. After a long, slow conversation, Gribble informs the band that the tree informed him that they clearing with the flowers is up ahead but not to wake Sylfaren.

The band wander through this area for just a bit before they stumble upon a small grove in between a cluster of trees. A huge pillar of sunlight beams down over the area and a massive patch of sundew tulips sit at its centre. A sleeping centaur also waits at the centre of this area, laying in the middle of the flowers and basking in the sunlight.

The plan:

  1. Sneak up
  2. Cast Silence to mask the sound of the person sneaking up
  3. Pick flower
  4. Sneak back
  5. Off to Theos then the Bar

The Execution

  1. Yomi sneaks up
  2. Heironymo casts silence, but instead of on Yomi and the area he is is in, casts it directly on the sleeping centaur.
  3. With the world suddenly going silent and all forests noise cut out. Yomi see the ears of the centaur twitch and then his eyes fly open. In a flash he is on his feet and brandishes a wooden club that was tucked at his side a moment before. His eyes are wide with anger as he stares Yomi and the band down and shouts, Well nothing that could be heard.
  4. Erm what was the rest of the plan
  5. Abandon the plan
Yomi Dimension Doors back towards the rest of the Band.
The Band start retreating, except for Lemmog who holds his ground.
Heironymo joins him.
The centaur charges the band shouting all the way, when suddenly his voice can be heard
“Who dares tread upon the grove of Sylfaren?”

Lemmog and Heironymo  tell him of the plight that is occurring with the people of Eden, he quickly calms and shifts towards sympathy for the trapped souls of the town. “For a cause such as this, I would be a monster to turn you away. Take the flower and go help them.”

As the Band leaves, Yomi hears a bit of buzzing and a pixie comes swooping down from the canopy. Her hair is fiery red and whips behind her as if in a powerful breeze as her hands glow with purple energy.

"What you doing?" she calls out to Yomi
The pixie introduces herself as Lenora, and she is one of many who hang out in this area of the forest.
Yomi eventually explains that they got this sundrip tulip to help the Town of Eden create a cure for their suffering.

Lenora she bursts into laughter. “You are all so silly! You found a sundew tulip but you didn’t get one of the magic ones! It’s a good thing I found you because that one isn’t going to be any good in a potion I’m afraid. What you need is a sundew tulip from the back of a Sundrop Squirrel! You may have seen some running around - they have flowers all over their backs! You have to make sure the squirrel is alive when you harvest the flower though! It doesn’t hurt them to take a flower but it loses its magic if the squirrel is dead!”

The band scout out to find one of these Sundrop Squirrel, Gribble talks to one and gets it close, and with Silme and Gribble coaxing it with nibbles they manage to obtain a Sundrop Tulip from the squirrles back.
The Sundrop Squirrel then scurrys off back up a tree almost instantly blending in with the flora and fauna.

The band then head back to Theos and give her the Tulip, it is in the day now, so the band ask where they can stay the night.

Theo informs them that there is a small tavern in the town, Paradise Inn, which caters primarily to folks passing through.

So the band make their way to the tavern.
